2017 marks the 25th anniversary of Karwoski & Courage’s existence.
To celebrate, on the 25th of every month this year we will share a little bit of Karwoski & Courage culture or history.
Anyone who has worked at Karwoski & Courage since 1998 will have soon learned that one of Glenn Karwoski’s favorite movies is the Coen brothers’ classic, The Big Lebowski, starring Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Julianne Moore, Steve Buscemi, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
It is truly a brilliant movie.
Last November, Miranda came to work wearing a cardigan sweater that looked suspiciously like the sweater Jeff Bridges, The Dude, wore in the movie.
Glenn, delighted at the sight of one of his employees decked out in Lebowski garb, made sure that everyone knew exactly how special that sweater was.
He has a Big Lebowski cardigan, of course, and pointed us all to Amazon, where we, too, could get one.
Karwoski & Courage’s Secret Santa Tradition
Fast forward a month.
Every year, Glenn hosts a holiday party for Karwoski & Courage employees. A central part of the festivities is the tradition of exchanging Secret Santa gifts, which should be creative, of course, funny and, ideally, teasing.
We pick names from a hat. It can sometimes be tough on new employees who have not yet had enough time to get to know their colleagues and therefore don’t have much material from which to draw, as it were.
This year, newly-minted K&C-er Sara drew Glenn Karwoski himself, The Boss.
The Big Karwoski
Sara was clearly up to the task, though, as she came through with the hit of this year’s Secret Santa gifts.
Sara’s hobby is creating mashups and memes, for she has a decided talent.
She put that talent to use in this Photoshopped mashup of The Big Lebowski movie poster, substituting Miranda (wearing the cardigan) for Jeff Bridges’ Big Lebowski character, and Glenn for John Goodman’s Walter Sobchak character.
