Data on individual hashtag use has traditionally been hard to come by outside of for-fee analytics tools. So when I recently discovered RiteTag, I couldn’t wait to share it.
RiteTag Hashtag Research Social Apps
RiteTag is fundamentally a social app, so in order to use it, you need to connect it to your social media accounts. The networks it supports are:
- Facebook (profiles & pages),
- Pinterest, and
- LinkedIn (profiles & pages).
Once you connect your profiles, you get access to the data RiteTag is collecting on the use of hashtags. The hashtag stats include:
- Unique tweets per hour,
- Retweets per hour,
- Hashtag exposure per hour,
- Tweets with images,
- Tweets with links, and
- Tweets with mentions.
RiteTag Hashtag Research Browser Extensions
While you can conduct hashtag research on the RiteTag site, you can also get hashtag data on the go by installing a browser extension:
RiteTag Hashtag Search Mobile Apps
RiteTag is obviously collecting the hashtag data via these browser extensions and via the social apps but the company also provides mobile apps through which it can collect data as well:
RiteTag Real-Time Hashtag Analytics
The following screenshots show the real-time analytics RiteTag provides. As you can see, you’ll get estimated hourly stats with daily and hourly averages as well as live tweets to provide flavor.
RiteTag will list the popular accounts that are using a particular hashtag as well as the language and geographic distribution for use of that hashtag.
RiteTag shows you images that are associated with posts using a hashtag as well as a relationship explorer so you can discover additional, related hashtags. RiteTag color codes hashtags throughout its service: Green = Use Now, Blue = Use Over The Long Term, and Red = Don’t Bother.
